Martha Murphy
Martha Murphy is the Head Librarian at the Office of the Fire Marshal in Toronto in Ontario, Canada. She is the editor of Fire News a daily web-based newsletter which highlights media coverage on fire/emergency incidents across the province. Martha has given numerous presentations on social media and how they are being used by fire and emergency services, most recently with Canadian Fire Safety Association and Ontario Fire Chiefs Association. She also participated as a guest lecturer on Fire Research for the Masters in Fire Engineering programme at the University of Waterloo. In addition, she was recently published in the journals Fire Technology and Ontario Fire Service Messenger for several articles on social media, eBooks and eReaders and Fire Research. Martha has her Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and her Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Western Ontario. She is currently working on an Information Management Certificate at the University of Toronto.
