Sophia Donaldson
Dr Sophia Donaldson is a careers consultant for UCL PhD students and research staff. After completing a PhD in molecular genetics, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher and then a science communicator for several research charities. Before joining UCL, she provided careers support for students at King"s College London and The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Although there is plenty of research available on the information literacy skills of students and researchers, little is known about how those in the workplace find and effectively use information. This article provides a background to this topic and highlights some key findings from recent research carried out in relation to the insurance worker.
