Gary Green

Gary Green started his library career in higher education and moved into public libraries in 1997 (Surrey County Council), where he initially started out as a cataloguer. His current position within the Virtual Content Team, as Technical Librarian, is to oversee catalogue development and EDI support, and to support the development of online web and social media services for the library service. In 2010 he helped found Voices For The Library, a campaign group highlighting the value and need for public libraries in the UK. Gary can be reached at ggstopflat@gmail.com

If you are have responsibility for identifying, locating and sharing web-based information, you may find that you are manually repeating the same or similar tasks on a regular basis. Depending upon the services you use, sharing information of this sort can often be automated using ifttt, an internet site that enables you to feed information from one service to another.
