We recently wrote about EBSCO improving its content by supplying details of publishers’ licence agreements to their system. If you missed the item you can find it at this link: http://web.vivavip.com/forum/LiveWire/read.php?i=5038. Now its Publishing Services’ Division http://www.ebscoind.com/industries/groups-ps.asp has acquired Hallmark Data Systems http://www.halldata.com/# from Tinicum Capital Partners http://www.tinicum.com/. Hallmark is a circulation fulfillment provider for a number of periodicals and Tinicum a private equity company based in New York. Hallmark has been owned by Tinicum since 2003, when it was sold by SourceLink http://www.sourcelink.com/. Hallmark already has relationships with B2B media companies, such as Nielsen Business Media http://www.nielsenbusinessmedia.com/, Penton Media http://www.penton.com/ and United Business Media http://www.unitedbusinessmedia.com/. In his statement Ray Miller, Hallmark’s chairman, said that the deal will provide opportunities to work with EBSCO Telemarketing Services http://www.ebscoind.com/industries/groups-gs-ets.asp and EBSCO MetaPress http://www.ebscoind.com/industries/groups-gs-mp.asp, which creates digital editions of publications. “I feel grateful for what Tinicum did, which was to be a great owner and find us a really good fit,” says Miller, who describes the purchase as a change of ownership. http://digbig.com/4wryw. Hallmark was represented by Jordan Edmiston Group http://www.jegi.com/ in the deal, whose financial terms were not disclosed. http://digbig.com/4wryx
