Content (Articles, Reports, Webinars)

We are now just past the halfway point of our current Topic Series, "All About Usage - From Content Sharing to Data Mining", which looks at "usage" from the perspective of today's users and their organisations:

  • We've just launched a new survey designed to gain a better understanding of the range of approaches organisations take to managing online usage. Readers can learn more about the research project from a recent blog article, "Managing Use of Web Content". It only takes a few minutes to complete the survey and remember to provide your email address so we can send you a copy of the final report.
  • Keep an eye out for the soon-to-be published results from our recent survey on authentication. For an overview of authentication methods and challenges, don't forget the upcoming FreePint Webinar "Authentication Primer: Which Approach Does What?" on 10th September, this is also part of the Usage series.

We've got quite a few product reviews, Q&As and articles in the pipeline so be sure to register to get notifications. Reports and articles published since the last Subscription Update include:

We ran the FreePint Webinar, "What We Learned about Information Skills Development" early in August. If you missed it, and you have a Subscription, you can view the recording here.

If usage of ebooks is of interest, you can also view the recording for the FreePint Webinar "Corporate Market for Ebooks: A Look at the Research", which took place at the end of July.

Community

The Communities of Practice sessions offer an opportunity for members of the information community to discuss ideas and reflect on topics of mutual interest:

  • The topic of authentication has featured prominently in the Usage series and in September a teleconference Communities of Practice session on "Tackling the Authentication Challenge" will give information buyers and vendors an opportunity to come together to discuss the results of FreePint's research on the subject.
  • There will also be in-person sessions for both buyers and vendors in New York and London, in October and November - details and registration here. Seats are very limited for these confidential sessions.

Consulting

Our director of research, Robin Neidorf, is participating in Cycling for Libraries early next month, starting in Oslo and ending in Aarhus (Denmark). A pharma customer in Copenhagen gets the added benefit of an on-site visit and workshop with Robin, deepening their earlier consulting work on defining and measuring the value of information services.

The bespoke session will dig into the details of stakeholders and result in a draft communications plan, designed to raise the visibility of the value of information service to key stakeholders.

Our Content is the broad platform through which we publish research-based insights. Community provides the environment to discuss them with peers. Consulting tailors the insight to your needs. Find the right FreePint Subscription level to meet your needs.
