As the FreePint Topic Series: What You Need to Know Your Customer (KYC) continues, Tim Buckley Owen notes that there are special insights that information professionals can bring to this and other regulatory compliance challenges. Whether it's the Safe Harbor agreement, adverts for financial services generated automatically by search engine results, financial promotions in social media or regulatory authorities' encouragement of financial technology developments like Bitcoins, info pros should be able to offer a uniquely well informed perspective. And that's before you even consider ways of keeping the boss out of jail for not doing their due diligence properly...
LinkedIn... Making it Even Easier to "Follow" People
25th August 2014
It has been a busy year for LinkedIn, as reported recently, LinkedIn acquired Newsle to bolster its news and subscription services and LinkedIn has rolled out a number of significant changes to the site. Due Diligence - from Business Burden to Business Benefit
19th August 2014
Organisations face growing legal and reputational risks associated with doing business. These risks have become even more significant because of mounting pressure from regulators and an increase in business carried out in higher risk jurisdictions. Mark Dunn looks at what the law says regarding Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Bribery & Corruption, and how organisations can mitigate the risk of becoming involved in corruption through third parties (e.g. agents, suppliers) by implementing a simplified or Enhanced Due Diligence process.

When it comes to social media projects in particular, defeat can be something that is encountered all too regularly. But with many companies having seen the benefits that using social tools have brought their competitors and peers, the pressure on information and knowledge managers to implement these tools can be extreme. How to Avoid Collaboration Fatigue
14th August 2014
We all understand - or at least think we understand - the benefits of collaboration, and in the last 10 years the collaboration industry has done a fantastic job of delivering a range of tools that have made it easier and easier for team members to collaborate with fewer and fewer barriers.
