Seven priorities for information leaders as AI becomes an everyday tool
Jinfo Report
19th February 2026
Abstract
AI is firmly embedded in the day-to-day reality of information and research teams. Across organisations, AI tools are being adopted at pace, often with the expectation that they will reduce workload, accelerate research and improve efficiency. In practice, however, the impact on information teams has been more nuanced.
Drawing on shared experience from senior information and knowledge managers, we have gathered a set of practical insights that reflect how AI is reshaping work, expectations and professional value.
The focus is not on the technology itself, but on what this shift means for how information teams operate, where they add value, and how roles and skills are evolving.
