Abstract

AlphaSense is a company search engine for analysts, researchers, and other financial professionals who wish to search and analyse corporate filings and other research documents. Having only been introduced to the market in 2011, it has already won many awards. It uses proprietary linguistic search and natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to index each word and passage of text in a document, as well as artificial intelligence and machine learning, to expand searches to include relevant synonyms.

This review:

  • Introduces the AlphaSense company search engine
  • Highlight its value and use-cases, particularly in the financial services industry
  • Provides a comprehensive overview of sources, including over 38,000 global quoted companies, 1,000 sell-side research providers and access to LexisNexis news and Dow Jones content
  • Explores the search user interface and outputs
  • Covers product maturity and development plans, including more coverage of private company information
  • Pricing information
  • Discusses the competitor landscape, which includes Thomson Reuters, Dow Jones, Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, Acuris, Moody's, Bureau van Dijk and Prequin.
