As 2025 gives way to 2026, we're starting to get a handle on GenAI's strengths, weaknesses and limitations. Our new report offers a critical evaluation of GenAI for mitigating third-party and reputational risk, as well as specific actions for information managers:
We've found that GenAI implementations in licensed products have many limitations (subset of content; specific constraints; not available for use in client tools) and scraped content is highly inconsistent, unreliable and inaccurate.
GenAI is also directly affecting information teams, and we know of a number of global teams that have been laid-off as a result of GenAI.
Building on these themes, our next Community sessions are an opportunity to discuss how GenAI's impact on information team work, and the implications for staffing strategy:
- "Team demand and AI" (22nd January 2026)
- "Team roles and AI" (26th February 2026).
We will discover how colleagues are engaging stakeholders, and how to frame conversations with your business leaders.
We have an exciting year ahead, so if you aren't yet a Jinfo subscriber then explore the value of a Jinfo Subscription.
Here's to a happy and healthy 2026, where we work together to respond to the opportunities and threats associated with GenAI.
