Being social is hype, particularly in the world of Web 2.0. Search is hype as well. Now these two mash up. In October LinkedIn, a professional social networking site, launched its own search platform to a small group of users. It allows for ... ... unified search results ... powerful relevance algorithm ... a redesigned search results page ... a new search category "In Common" which lets you see what connections and groups you share with a select user ... saved searches ... choice of basic or expanded views ... a spell check ... type-ahead for connections Now, in November they rolled the platform out to all 31 million users. LinkedIn subscribers are provided with a powerful tool to find talent, business partners, custoers or former colleagues.
