Abstract

Every month, contributing editor Anne Jordan researches additions to and takedowns from common aggregator platforms, and investigates other sources newly available or removed from professional tools. Learn about this month's updates, which are available in full through a FreePint Subscription.

This month's Factiva update documents takedowns of US, UK, Australian and Belgian sources. Additions include a wide range of blog content, plus news sources particularly in Asia and Eastern European markets. Two new-to-Factiva languages -- Vietnamese and Thai -- are covered in the additions. (FreePint Subscribers can login to read full analysis.)

At Nexis, the main takedown news is the result of an ended contract with publisher Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. A number of interesting additions appear in the ProQuest on Nexis platform and through NewsBank, though each with some usage restrictions that will affect different segments of the Nexis market.  (FreePint Subscribers can login to read full analysis.)

I publish updates on Factiva and Nexis monthly and other aggregators periodically throughout the year. This month, I include some interesting changes on EBSCO, particularly around mutual customers of EBSCO and Elsevier, who can now access Scopus via EDS.

Furthermore, the first databases to come from the merger of EBSCO Publishing and H.W. Wilson are now live. (FreePint Subscribers can login to read full analysis.)
