Abstract

Following feedback from readers, we've made adjustments to some of our regular newsletters. Reorganisation and better visual differentiation help the Information Practice Update and the Information Content Update stand out in your inbox. But for maximum information with minimum inbox clutter and investment of time, the FreePint Newsletter will keep you informed twice a month.

Have you ever received a FreePint Newsletter in your inbox and asked yourself, "Hey, didn't I just see this one?"

To be honest, we staff have done the same thing.

In July 2012, when we consolidated all our articles and reports into a single offering, we also consolidated our newsletters. In addition to the central FreePint Newsletter, we added the Information Practice Newsletter and the Information Content Newsletter, with the intention of providing readers with specific interest in the Information Practice or Information Content areas a targeted update.

Many readers wrote to tell us they appreciated the new simplicity of consolidating all the content into a single offering under the FreePint brand. But others expressed confusion -- the newsletters were too similar. And in fact, I've had to take a closer look at plenty of incoming emails to determine exactly what had just arrived in my inbox!

We always listen to feedback and consider carefully how to react. We can't address every comment (though we always appreciate your taking the time to contact us with your suggestions), but this confusion came up so regularly that we knew we needed to address it sooner rather than later.

You'll now notice receiving the Information Practice Update and the Information Content Update, each published twice a month like their newsletter predecessors. We've adjusted the format slightly, though, to reduce duplication of article coverage and to better differentiate these quick updates from the full FreePint Newsletter.

We intend the Updates to let you know the latest articles and reports in particular areas of our content. If you'd like to add or remove these Updates from your account, login to MyFreePint to make changes, or email support@freepint.com for assistance.

And if you want to reduce the flow of email to your inbox, the FreePint Newsletter will always provide you with an overview of everything we're publishing. Scan it twice a month for latest articles and reports, plus Jinfo Jobs and Events and My Favourite Tipples. Three minutes of your time, twice a month, and you'll know where you can get value from FreePint.
