Content (Articles, Reports and Webinars)

The most recent FreePint Webinar: Source Expertise and Your Value to Your Business focused on information professionals as "source experts" with unique value to their organisations. FreePint content supports you as you cultivate this critical and unique expertise:

  • Source Updates of content added to and removed from key databases like FactivaProQuest, and Nexis

As we discussed in the webinar, the wealth and complexity of new sources added to our information choices heighten the importance of the role you play in helping your organisation make the best possible choices for individual needs and for your content portfolio overall.

If you were not able to attend the live webinar, request access to the recorded version.

Another essential role for information professionals is in the selection and deployment of knowledge tools and knowledge management as well as "connecting the dots" between knowledge repositories and tacit "know how" that drive today's organisations. Veteran contributor James Mullan reflects on his day-to-day experience in a London law firm and study of the industry to help you address challenges like:

If decision-makers in your organisation are asking hard questions about news content, you'll want to register for the FreePint Topic Series: News, and Beyond, which runs from October through December.

Community

The FreePint Topic Series: News, and Beyond is also directing our plans for upcoming Communities of Practice (CoPs). During the series, we are hosting in-person CoPs in London (21st October)Amsterdam (23rd October) and New York (date TBD November) on "The Value of News, for Awareness and Research".

We'll be leveraging much of our discussion from past CoPs and webinars on measuring value and applying that knowledge to the often hard-to-measure category of news content.

You'll also want to put the London date in your diary to participate in CoPs that bring together buyers and sellers of information products for confidential discussion on "Visibility and Value to End Users". Facilitated discussion will help information managers and product strategists explore how they can best collaborate to make the "right" information visible to end users. Seats for this session are quickly being spoken for, so register today if you are interested.

The same session will be offered in New York in November.

Consulting

Several FreePint customers are working on year-end user survey projects, to help them prepare for their 2015 communications and internal marketing plans. We're delighted to help out, doing everything from initial planning, to survey development, to peer review of resulting reports with recommendations for strategic planning.

Our editorial staff have also recently finalised a new approach to providing Consulting-level subscribers with a bespoke Subscription Update each quarter based on their areas of interest. If you are considering a Consulting-level subscription and would like to see a sample bespoke Update, please contact us.
