Abstract

Key Note has come a long way in the last two years, maturing as a provider of UK business intelligence - how would it fit into your source book?

Item

Are you a consultant, business development manager, senior executive or auditor? Or do you work as an academic, information professional, risk manager or in the supply chain? These are just some of the professions who use Key Note as a source of market research and industry reports.

We covered Key Note in a full product review in 2013 and at that point our reviewer Andrew Grave noted in a blog post that it had been successful in adding business intelligence information to its market research data.

Since then, it's introduced even more changes, as our reviewer Sophie Alexander reports in our latest Product Review (Subscriber content). "Key Note has carried out a complete overhaul of the product, and it now has a much cleaner look with greater functionality and content," she writes.

UK and Irish Business Data

Containing UK market research, industry reports and company data on 8 million UK businesses,as well as 450,000 unincorporated businesses and 200,000 Irish companies, it's easy to see why Key Note is so useful to such a variety of business departments and researchers.

As well as company reports, Key Note supplies market digests across a range of sectors, along with market reports for competitor analysis and forecasts. It goes to great lengths to ensure accuracy, as Sophie explains. "Every statistic and finding is fact checked at least three times before it's included in a report, and every report is subjected to a three-step editorial process."

How It Works

In 2015, Sophie spoke to Key Note's marketing manager Adam Pembrey and technology manager Swapna Ghugari for a FreePint Q&A. They explained how the product offers a full text search and detailed usage statistics.

If you're not using Key Note, you perhaps use Mintel, Fame or IBISWorld, which all have a UK focus. For other databases, check out our report of the 11 most-used subscription sources for consumer content.
