Because information services are positioned as the "source experts", they need to be able to handle inbound queries for the kinds of research that end-users cannot do on their own.

Jinfo has researched the range of approaches for inbound query management - from very basic email submissions to robust routing and knowledge management approaches. Based on this research, we have developed a maturity model for inbound queries that documents the evolution from transactional, reactive responses to detailed analysis and resource optimisation.
