Concluding the product review of the relaunched BBC Monitoring Portal, reviewer Sophie Alexander describes its many attributes that make it difficult for other organisations to compete with. In terms of providing impartial monitoring of international news on a real-time basis, no other companies appear to offer such comprehensive global coverage, although ProQuest Dialog, Reuters, and the EIU's country profiles offer similar types of coverage and have their own strengths.
