Abstract

EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) is premium content supplier EBSCO's world-leading tool for single search across all an information centre's resources.

This review:

  • Introduces its work with partners and clients and sums up how it provides value to organisations.

  • Looks at implementation, search response and filtering, content provider partners and how it promotes discovery.

  • Looks at how EDS can be used to target results, and the options are for customisation, search strategy and outputs. Help and support and the mobile offering are also discussed.

  • Summarises the support available and describes EDS' main competitors: ProQuest's Summon and Primo from Ex Libris. Rounds up with plans for future developments and a summary of the pricing structure.
