Abstract

Engineering information resources are available as individual ebook titles or packages, covering one or multiple engineering specialities, platforms offering single or multiple indexes to technical journals, conferences and portals with a full suite of content including ebooks, journals, databases, patents and standards (see Market landscape - engineering portals).

All vendors offer trial subscriptions to help the information centre staff, engineers and researchers determine which content sources or combination of sources will best meet the needs of the enterprise or firm. A variety of purchase options are available and most vendors are willing to discuss the needs of the enterprise when proposing a quote for subscription or purchase.

This market landscape gives an overview of seven ebook sources:

  • AccessEngineering from McGraw-Hill
  • CRCnetBASE from Taylor & Francis
  • EBSCO eBook Engineering Core
  • Engineering Core Collection from ProQuest
  • Knovel from Elsevier
  • Skillsoft Books EngineeringPro
  • Springer Nature for R&D

We provide a brief description of each product and a link to the product page and company's homepage, an overview of the typical users, key features/value and pricing.

Produced by Helen Josephine.
