Abstract

As part of Jinfo's Research Focus "Developing an information-savvy workforce through strategic alignments", we surveyed how organisations are leveraging the skills and expertise of information professionals to improve information literacy amongst workers.

Jinfo's director of research, Robin Neidorf, analyses the results and:

Illustrates the range of industries represented by respondents
Examines reporting lines
Identifies which part of the business takes the lead in identifying and addressing the need for improved information skills
Shows the popularity of different activities undertaken to support information skills development – and how this compares with plans for 2017
Looks at how aware colleagues and departments across the business are in terms of the need for information skills and skill development
Suggests what an initial survey on information skills development might contain.
