Following the same day publication in London of the US edition of the Wall Street Journal, plans are underway to extend the rollout to the rest of Europe. The first day of sales in London was 16th April and the paper is being sold alongside the European edition, Wall Street Journal Europe. Seen as part of News Corporationâs global expansion plans it sits alongside Dow Jones Enterprise Media Groupâs acquisition of Betten News and Dow Jones Newswires relationship with Agence France-Presse. The potential European distribution was announced by Les Hinton, chief executive of Dow Jones at a party held in London recently to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the European edition, according to those who attended the event. http://digbig.com/4wtjm The initial print run in London will be 3,500 copies and the paper costs GBP2.50. It is available at 250 newsagents in central London and at the cityâs airports. It is available five hours ahead of the paper edition being published on the US East Coast. To reflect the London market a new column called âLetter From the Cityâ appears on Monday and Friday and will be written by staff reporters at Dow Jones Newswires, at Financial News, and at the London bureau of the Journal. http://digbig.com/4wtjnAbout this article
