Another award: learned and professional publishing

There is just time to make submissions to The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) for their awards recognising achievement in learned and professional publishing. Applications must be received by 16 June and the winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner on 11 September during the ALPSP International conference http://www.alpspconference.org. The awards are: · ALPSP AWARD FOR PUBLISHING INNOVATION - in recognition of a truly innovative approach to any aspect of publication. Applications will be judged on their originality and innovative qualities, together with their utility, benefit to their community and long term prospects. · ALPSP AWARD FOR BEST NEW JOURNAL - open to any journal launched within the past 3 years. The judges will consider four main aspects of the journal and its launch: market research, editorial strategy, marketing and commercial success. The journal should include a substantial number of pee- reviewed articles. The Royal Society of Chemistry won the 2007 Award for Publishing Innovation with Project Prospect, while the Best New Journal Award was presented to Routledge, Taylor & Francis for Jazz Perspectives.
