Holding both an MLIS and JD makes John DiGilio uniquely qualified to review legal products, and we're always glad when he makes time in his busy schedule as national manager of Library Research Services of Reed Smith LLP to put a product through its paces.
He's just delivered a Mini Review of Fastcase HD, the award-winning app for iOS and Android produced by Fastcase.
John particularly praises the ease of use and simplicity of the app, noting: "What the app lacks in more elegant functionality, it more than makes up for in simple ease of use. It is this factor that seems to be driving its growing popularity."
This mini review is the first in a collection on mobile legal apps we're working on with John, and for each he is testing and commenting on the same areas:
- Content
- Search functionality
- Results presentation and delivery
- Standalone access
- Continuity between full product and app
- Usage report and billing
- Value and competitive environment.
Fastcase HD distinguishes itself in many of these categories, particularly in its decision to make the app free of charge.
