Abstract

Competitor Analytics is a tool from Euromonitor International, introduced in July 2014, that provides a company-centric view of the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) universe. It pulls in cross-standardised data from 17 different industries in Euromonitor's global research database, Passport.

This review:

  • Introduces the company and the Passport and Competitor Analytics products, identifies key audiences such as investment banks, media companies and consumer goods companies
  • Highlights key advantages and provides contact details
  • Examines the quality and quantity of information available and puts the industry, company and country data to the test to find out whether the tool lives up to its claim of providing analysis spanning multiple FMCG industries and providing a cross-industry perspective to connect them
  • Puts the search options through their paces, along with functions to identify strategic information such as market attractiveness, competitive environment, gaps in a company's market presence. Highlights case studies which illustrate these features in action.
  • Discusses the strength of the visualisations and charts
  • Flags up developments, pricing and overall value offered
