Abstract

We review Digimind Intelligence, a competitive intelligence and web monitoring product aimed at market and competitive intelligence professionals in industries from banking to pharmaceutical and agro-food. Since our last review, in 2009 - when the product was known as Digimind 9 - it has undergone an extensive redesign, benefitted from new features, and many new developments are in the pipeline.

This review:

  • Introduces the key advantages and use-cases for Digimind Intelligence version 12 (DI.12)

  • Provides an overview of the company and Digimind Social, a social media monitoring platform

  • Outlines sources covered and the main ways of monitoring web content, including videos

  • Looks at searching options, including "source packs" such as national press and specialised media

  • Highlights options to connect to premium news aggregators such as Factiva

  • Looks at outputs, collaboration and publishing options

  • Comments on the help and training available

  • Explains the pricing model

  • Discusses product maturity and forthcoming developments

  • Identifies competitors including social media monitoring companies like Sprout Social; competitive intelligence players like Newsdesk, SinglePoint and Commetric; and market intelligence platforms such as Comintelli and M-Brain.
