Elsevier, provider of scientific, medical and technical information, released an upgrade to its text-mining solution illumin8. This product is part of Elsevier's information retrieval tools portfolio to enable researchers to extract actionable intelligence from the Elsevier databases. illumin8 is a web-based semantic text-mining solution which enables information professionals to process complex R&D resarch projects. Users do not have to deal with complex search algorithyms but simply use phrases which the software turns into relevant research results. According to Elsevier, the product upgrade now provides new benefits such as: *Richer results providing a technology overview or landscape including organizations, products, approaches, benefits, and people associated with a technology or product category *Smarter search logic that relieves the user of having to enter specialized syntax or parameters *Explicit display of result types showing the semantic relationship of the result to the search input *Addition of nearly half a million predefined technology terms to the search guide Resources: Elsevier - www.elsevier.com illumin8 - www.illumin8.comAbout this article
