If you’re like me, you like to “arrive prepared” whether it’s for a business presentation, a job interview, a new client meeting or even a date. HighBeam Business can help you do just that. Yes, even the date. If she says she’s the CEO of an IT company that just went public, you might well be able to confirm that with HighBeam Business.

This relatively new product from Cengage Learning offers company profiles, industry reports, business articles and an easy to use company list builder. Its scope of content is global, making it a useful product for almost any researcher or business wanting to make sure they keep up with what’s going on with competition or their industry. Some of you may be familiar with HighBeam Research, Cengage’s earlier product that consisted primarily of business articles. If so, you’ll be happy to hear that this newer product incorporates the same type of search interface and results display.

There are a couple of small limitations in the print mode for some sections and some great features are not highlighted quite as much as users might like. In fact, writing the review allowed me, as a current subscriber, to find things I’d not really been aware of. For example, the “Arrive Prepared” Blog is an up-to-date resource of posts on industry trends, how-to guides, on Fortune 100 companies and more.

Overall, while I note that the product has a few “growing pains”, something any relatively new product might suffer, overall HighBeam Business is a great buy.

As a current subscriber, it is another “go to” product for me for information on companies, industries and an array of topics covered by business articles.
