You may have seen on our Topic Series page that from 2016 these will be known as "Research Focus" - but rest assured, they will have the same great mix of content, community and consulting.

So why the name change?

Research is at the heart of FreePint.

It's hard to imagine an industry better suited to research than corporate information. There are so many facets to how information influences and drives value in organisations that we never run out of areas for study.

So we're always asking ourselves, "Where should we focus our research?"

In fact, it was during a Topic Series planning meeting that we realised what we were trying to describe was not a "series" related to one of our three core research Topics... but a Research Focus, through which the Research department can explore all the ways expertise in sources, technology and value make business better.

Hence, the new name, from 1 January.

While we're improving...

Our constant attention to potential improvements, as well as regular feedback from customers, prompted us to use this transition to make a few additional tweaks to how we communicate with you about our Research Focus.

One of the points raised through a past customer feedback survey was that they'd prefer to have information on Topic Series delivered to them via our usual mechanisms, rather than registering separately to receive information. We're incorporating this request, so that from 2016 you won't need to re-register every calendar quarter for the Research Focus, instead we'll keep you updated through the Newsletter and Blog.

Among other things, this means that if you get the FreePint Newsletter, you also have access to the Index Report we publish at the end of each quarter's research. This report provides a thematic guide to the content produced as part of each Research Focus. So be sure to register for the FreePint Newsletter, if you have not yet done so.

We make Research the hub around which everything else turns. We make it practical and timely, every quarter through Research Focus.
