Content (Articles, Reports and Webinars)

The monthly summary of content changes on Nexis and Factiva have been published.

If you're looking for more detailed analysis of the broader changes around Factiva and Dow Jones, that's coming very soon: I recently met in New York with members of the team at Dow Jones responsible for the future of Factiva, and we have a full interview on their product roadmap scheduled for the end of this month. I'm looking forward to publishing a detailed report following that interview, so stay tuned.

Upheaval is underway in other parts of the industry as well: Chris Porter reports on the potential acquisitions touching on well-known PR/monitoring brands Cision, Meltwater and Vocus. He also continues his sequence of in-depth reviews of products in this space (most recently Brandwatch).

In other product reviews, we've kicked off an in-depth review of Infotrieve Mobile Library (first chapter here). The multilingual capabilities, secure cloud-based system and flexible integration with other tools are among the features of this eContent and document management platform that have garnered praise so far.

Another new review covers RelSci, described as a mix of "who you know" with "who the movers and shakers know". Like other products we've reviewed, including Boardroom InsidersLeadership CompaniesMarketVisual and iSell, RelSci attempts to give business professionals an additional edge through identifying relationships and profiling executives.

Community

Law librarians had a chance to dig into the unique opportunities and challenges of news and awareness delivery within their firms in a recent Communities of Practice teleconference just for them. It was a great opportunity to take a closer look at a single sector, within the broader context of the changes we at FreePint have been tracking within the market for news content.

Upcoming teleconference CoPs include three sessions on understanding, communicating and measuring value - for a full list visit the FreePint on Eventbrite page. These sessions provide an opportunity for those who cannot attend the in-person session on Determining, Discussing and Measuring Value in London on 13 May. We're also actively planning to offer the same session in Boston, Chicago and possibly other North American cities as well.

FreePint Subscription at the Team level gives access to all FreePint Communities of Practice plus all FreePint Content (articles, reports and webinars).

Consulting

We've just launched a new consulting project for a FreePint customer who wants a bespoke summary of competitor responses to changes in the market for news content. This is a great use of just a couple of hours of their six-hour credit.

With a FreePint Subscription at the Enterprise level, your subscription also includes a credit for up to six hours of consulting time per year. Email me at robin.neidorf@freepint.com if you have a consulting project in mind, or are considering upgrading to the next level.

An overview video and order form are available if you are considering starting a new FreePint Subscription.
