FreePint's research activities provide fascinating insights into a variety of industries, products and key challenges across the year as we progress different projects.

This month we were pleased to contribute a blog item to Cilip, the UK's Chartered Institute for Library and Information Professionals. Our article "3 Trends in Information Management (and How to Participate)", is based on findings from our original research with over 340 information managers during our 2014 survey into organisational needs and preferences around news content

Participate at a Strategic Level

As our research into news needs, purchasing preferences and budgets completed its seventh year in 2014, we have enough data to be able to reflect on changes and to extrapolate future trends.

Presenting the findings is only one part of the puzzle, however. In our blog post we also highlight how information professionals can participate and ensure that they are recognised as a strategic part of the organisation's plans in areas from defining value to benchmarking against competitors, and identifying which non-cost resources can play an acceptable part in your information centre.

Non-Cost Resources - Contribute to Our Research

Grappling with budgets and giving serious consideration to significant use of non-cost resources are increasingly at the top of information managers' agendas. We are in the process of researching policies and guidelines around the use of such resources.

If you provide a copy of your guidelines or policy, we will send you the summary of our review later this year. All contributions will be anonymised and summarised, and your participation will be completely confidential.

To participate, simply send me your submission at robin.neidorf@freepint.com, or contact me with any questions.
