Abstract

MarketScape has been designed to give both information specialists and market intelligence managers the "optimal tool" for searching, managing and accessing external open access and licensed information. Find out what our reviewer thought of the product.

Item

MarketScape is a content integration software platform that brings together open access content from the web and content from licensed information providers.

The approach has been so successful that clients include a broad range of companies and corporations - pharmaceutical giants such as Novo Nordisk, Novartis, and Ferring Pharmaceutical, but also top brands like Lego, PwC, Carlsberg and Tissot.

In Jinfo's recent product review of MarketScape (Subscriber content), researcher Andrew Lucas finds, "The purpose of the platform is to unify information 'Streams' from the range of media and subscription information sources used by the client into 'one integrated workflow and provide a personalised user experience with a minimum of ongoing maintenance and with great usability'."

Does it measure up?

MarketScape is an established service, launched some 14 years ago by the Danish company MarketScape A/S. So how does it measure up to the needs of today's information managers?

Our review finds MarketScape isn't slowing down but has further development plans and they're worth reading about.

Andrew also considers how MarketScape can be used to personalise and manage access to multiple content sets, with sources going beyond news to also cover science, regulatory information and patents.

Amongst other things the review puts the technology and the design of the interface and its output functions to the test.
