Item

Define and manage value for current awarenessJinfo has produced annual surveys of information professionals since 2008, to stay abreast of how news content is used and needed in the field, and how much current awareness sources are valued.

By asking the same questions in the same way each year, we've been able to:

  • Gather and compare trends and how they affect the current market
  • Adapt the topics to suit the current customer needs each year.

After a year off to concentrate on qualitative research, so we could focus on why information teams might be completely changing their current awareness provisions, we've produced a new report for 2017 (Subscriber content).

How critical is current awareness?

We surveyed 120 respondents across the world and across industries about their current awareness resources and the services they provide.

Our in-depth report looks closely at areas including:

  • Team size and capacity
  • Investment of the team's time
  • Budgets
  • Premium products purchased by popularity
  • Changes in premium source products in use since 2014
  • Use of content aggregation platforms
  • Most popular content platforms
  • Purchase factors
  • Value of current awareness.

Read our report to find out how companies have changed the way they manage their current awareness, from budget to responsibility.

The report covers analysis of the survey across five sections:

  • Introduction
  • Commentary on content
  • Commentary on technology
  • Satisfaction with primary product
  • Priorities and actions.
