Turning Content into Curricula
Jinfo Community
4th June 2015
Description
Information professionals possess an enormous amount of expertise that is mission-critical for the full range of knowledge workers in their organisations -- how to select and work with information sources, when and how to ask for help, and how to communicate results, to name but a few areas.
To turn this expertise into useful, productive training requires careful analysis of the areas of expertise, and then a process for mapping that content into outcomes-oriented curricula.
This Communities of Practice session provides you with a process for turning topic expertise into practical learning. We'll discuss:
- Establishing measurable learning outcomes
- "Chunking up" content into viable learning modules
- Creating activity-based experiences
- Choosing a format.
If knowledge workers balk at invitations to attend training sessions, the approach you'll develop as a result of participating in this session may change their minds. Whether you continue to opt for traditional learning environments or move into new formats, this session will improve the experience and outcomes of your efforts to engage with and influence users to work more effectively with information.
Communities of Practice are open to any organisation with a FreePint Subscription at the Community level or higher. When your registration is approved, you will receive details to attend the session.
If you have a question about this event, or are unsure if you have a Community level subscription, please contact us.
