Catherine Dhanjal explains how Jinfo answered a recent customer query about which patent tools we've covered and which of those have been subject to our in-depth product review process.

We received a question from a customer about our coverage of patent tools and what evaluation we had carried out on them.

Patent products are of evergreen interest to our subscribers and over the last 12 months or so we have made a particular point of reviewing some of the up-and-coming products as well as those which are perhaps better known.

Users of such products range from those who would be top-of-mind, such as intellectual property (IP) professionals and information professionals, through to business development, licensing and technology transfer, competitive intelligence departments and research & development units.

This PDF report covers 9 products in the field, offering a snapshot of the products and companies, including special features and key geographies covered. The databases offer a lot of variety in areas such as the number of patent authorities they cover, number of full-text documents, languages offered and whether they include visual analysis or text mining tools.
