3rd July 2025

Stephen PhillipsFollowing an incredible Jinfo Community session in May, we have compiled the report "Improve outcomes from your vendor negotiations".

The report is nothing short of an exposé into how vendors manage client relationships and contract negotiations.

If you only read one Jinfo resource this month, read the report. To get a taste, see this Blog item.

Last month, we were delighted to join over 100 colleagues for the Knowledge Information Management Research and Analytics (KiMRA) conference in London, UK.

Our new report "Five takeaways from the KiMRA conference" captures all the key talking points, which were focused on the impact of Generative AI. There's a taster on the Blog.

One KiMRA session we found especially interesting was "Knowledge and Research Reimagined".  There was lots to unpick from this conversation, so we've written the extensive blog item "Future proofing your team for GenAI" on how you can "opportunity spot" and build your strategy to work with GenAI.

"Critical thinking" was a core competency identified during the conference.

Our July Community session "Critical thinking skills for GenAI" will offer practical insights into the critical skills needed to use GenAI for research, including prompting, domain expertise, and source knowledge. Register now.

Following our recent report on Factiva Smart Summary, we've recorded a Webinar which gives our first-hand impressions and a demo of this new interface and the GenAI enhanced functionality.

You can watch the Webinar here, and read highlights from the report on the Blog.

For a reflection on our research into news and GenAI, see our YouTube video "The convergence of news and AI".

As always, your feedback guides our journey. So, please keep telling us how we are doing, and what we should be looking at next. The easiest way is through our contact form.

"Critical thinking skills for GenAI"

15th July 2025

Jinfo Community

Register for this practical session to discuss the critical thinking skills needed for GenAI.

Tools like ChatGPT and Copilot confidently produce plausible, authoritative content, but this fluency can cause users to accept outputs without any critical evaluation.

During this session we will discuss and demonstrate the critical skills needed to evaluate a GenAI research request, including prompting, domain expertise, and source knowledge.

Jinfo Testimonials
"Licensing data with an AI element is complicated with many grey areas. But, it's always good to discuss it with the Jinfo Community. It helps us understand issues that we may not have encountered or considered and reassuring to know we are not alone."
