Anja ThygesenSuccessful AI initiatives depend on more than technology.

That is a recurring theme from two new Jinfo reports:

Key findings include:

  • Organisations remain heavily focused on AI tools and interfaces.

  • Trusted information, governance, taxonomy, and content quality are becoming strategic assets.

  • Knowledge foundations increasingly determine the quality of AI outcomes.

  • Leadership sponsorship remains critical for moving AI from experimentation to operational use.

On the Jinfo Blog, "The AI paradox – why trust matters more than ever" explores how trust is becoming an increasingly important differentiator, as AI becomes embedded into everyday workflows.

As AI makes content easier to generate, trust and the ability to evaluate, validate, and apply information becomes increasingly valuable.

Another consistent finding is that information managers are becoming more strategically important.

Across our research and discussions, organisations increasingly recognise the need for expertise around:

  • Governance and policy
  • Trusted external information
  • Content licensing and permissions
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Organisational AI readiness.

As highlighted in the Jinfo Blog, "Content investment for AI – why the conversation is changing", discussions about content are increasingly becoming discussions about organisational priorities, risk, value, and decision-making.

Stakeholder value and AI

This provides a natural bridge into our current research into how information teams can better articulate their contribution, engage decision-makers, and position trusted information as a critical component of successful AI adoption.

To support this, we are running a practical Jinfo Community session (on 16th July), where members will work through real-world scenarios and discuss practical approaches to stakeholder engagement, value communication, and positioning information services in an AI-enabled organisation. Register now.

"Stakeholder value and AI workshop"
16th July 2026
Jinfo Community

In this hands-on session, we will explore how to engage most effectively with stakeholders.

In a small group, you will work through your own stakeholder scenario where AI is considered as a potential replacement, and reframe the discussion around the underlying business need.

You will practise how to position the value of human expertise – highlighting context, judgement, and stakeholder understanding – and communicate this effectively.

The session will cover:

  • Understanding and framing the business problem
  • Articulating your value to stakeholders
  • Reframing your response in stakeholder-relevant terms.
