Newsletter 641

4th June 2026

Anja ThygesenAs we wrap up the research, discussions, and community sessions from our spring focus on Content and AI, several themes have become increasingly clear.

In particular, our research has centred around:

  • licensing and AI rights
  • governance and user compliance
  • stakeholder alignment and organisational value
  • ... and the practical realities of applying AI to external content.

Licensing – external content and AI rights

One of the stronger findings from recent discussions is that many end users still do not understand the difference between content access rights, and AI usage rights.

They assume that once content can be read, accessed, or internally shared, it can also be processed through AI tools. In practice, this is often not the case.

You can read more about user compliance and governance approaches in our new report "Training end users in AI – from policy to practice".

Governance – using training as part of governance

One way of guiding end users is by treating training as part of governance itself.

Several organisations describe models where access to AI functionality depends on completion of specific training or certification. This is discussed in more detail in the blog "Training before access – a new control layer for AI?".

Our next focus – stakeholder management

As we move into June, our focus shifts towards stakeholder management and organisational value.

Upcoming sessions include two community sessions:

This shifts our research and community discussions from focussing on the content itself, towards how information managers communicate the value of trusted content, expertise, and human judgement to stakeholders and leadership.

Jinfo is here to help you to build a compliant organisation. Please reach out if you want to discuss the topic with me, and purchase a Jinfo Subscription if your organisation doesn't have one yet.

"Stakeholder value and AI"
25th June 2026
Jinfo Community

Effective stakeholder engagement is central to delivering value. It requires understanding what stakeholders aim to achieve, and adapting how information teams communicate and collaborate.

As AI raises questions about roles, stakeholders may ask:

"Why should this work not be replaced by AI?"

Strong engagement helps ensure your value is recognised – through context, judgement, and trusted relationships.

In this Jinfo session, we will explore practical ways to strengthen stakeholder engagement across three areas:

  • How to align and prepare your information team for effective stakeholder engagement
  • How to better understand and reflect stakeholders’ priorities and language
  • How to build trust-based relationships and position your team as a valued partner.

Two follow-up hands-on sessions in July (max. 15 participants) will focus on applying these ideas in practice.

Stakeholder value and AI

"Practical workshop: stakeholder value and AI"
14th or 16th July 2026
Jinfo Community

In this hands-on session, we will explore how to engage most effectively with stakeholders.

In a small group (max. 15 participants), you will work through your own stakeholder scenario where AI is considered as a potential replacement, and reframe the discussion around the underlying business need.

You will practise how to position the value of human expertise – highlighting context, judgement, and stakeholder understanding – and communicate this effectively.

The session will cover:

  • Understanding and framing the business problem
  • Articulating your value to stakeholders
  • Reframing your response in stakeholder-relevant terms.
