The increasing demand for high-quality, ethically-sourced data to fuel artificial intelligence (AI) has revealed significant gaps in the frameworks that govern data sharing.
A recent study has highlighted four actions which are important for information managers:
- Develop standard data licences for greater access.
- Address ambiguities in current licensing practices.
- Simplify licensing frameworks while enabling customisation.
- Use new frameworks to enhance governance, compliance, and ethics.
