Robin NeidorfThrough the current Research Focus "The information team with the right stuff", we're exploring how to envision and lead into the future.

Next month we'll take a closer look at the darker side of this work:

  • Our 5th June webinar tackles the problem of momentum and exhaustion: "Can you cope with continuous reinvention?"

  • Our 21st June Community session addresses one of the age-old problems of leadership: "Setting aside time for strategy". We'll have Jantinus Meints, head of global third-party content procurement at EY, sharing his recipe for success on this common challenge.

Check out all our forthcoming webinars and Community sessions, and purchase a Jinfo Subscription to gain access, if your organisation doesn't already have one.

Other seekers of the right stuff

Shaping the future is hard work. Vision isn't enough. You need stamina, resources, flexibility, and (in my case) a good deal of caffeine.

It also helps to have an active peer group working through similar issues.

Conferences and in-person events are a great way to find your peers, along with Jinfo Community sessions. At last week's Perfect Information Conference in Oxford, UK, I led (among other things) a panel discussion on building the team with the right stuff, featuring speakers from global consulting, finance and legal firms.

During next month's SLA annual conference, I'll be convening informal research briefings to cultivate discussion on this topic.

Will you be in Baltimore for SLA? Contact me for information about our briefings.
